Dan Abrams: Legal Celebrity
Dan Abrams is the son of Floyd Abrams a well known and well respected first amendment attorney from New York. After receiving a degree in political science from Duke University Abrams decided to follow his father in to the law by earning a degree from Columbia Law School. However while he was at Duke Abrams became interested in broadcasting when he started hosting the newscast on the student television station. When the chance to combine his interest in broadcasting and the law came along Abrams grabbed it.
Dan Abrams opportunity to enter into the world of broadcasting came when he took a job as a reporter for Court TV (now TruTV). His job was to report on many of the biggest trials of the day. He really came to prominence however with the O.J. Simpson trial. This would lead to a job with NBC as a general correspondent. His reporting on the Supreme Court hearing following the 2000 election would bring him to national attention again and would lead to his own show on MSNBC. During this time he also appeared on NBC regularly as a legal analyst. In 2011 Abrams would leave NBC to take the job as legal analyst at ABC.
There is far more to Dan Abrams than just a television personality. He also runs a network of highly successful blogs. He first started in this area by building a blog called Mediaite that reported on a subject of great interest to him, media personalities. This blog as proven to be a huge success and it is one of the top twenty blogs in terms of visitors. With this success under his belt Abrams has built a series of other blogs to cover fashion, sports, gossip and geek culture. All of them have proven successful.
Abrams first online venture however was to create a media consulting company. Initially this company was going to focus on traditional media but it has since changed its business model and it now focuses on digital media exclusively. Abrams research has grown into one of the most successful of all online consulting companies in large part because of the heavy focus that it puts on social media. They were one of the first to provide this service at just the right time as companies were starting to look at ways to take advantage of the new medium.
In addition to all of his other ventures Dan Abrams has managed to find time to become a successful writer, and not just on the Dan Abrams Blog. He has articles published in many different newspapers and magazines. He has recently started writing a column in Men's Health magazine as well. His writing is not limited to the popular press however he has been published several times in professional legal journals as well. It has recently been announced that Abrams would be writing a book on the rather interesting subject of why women are better than men.
